Nick Shen

Nick Shen, a multifaceted media personality in Singapore, began his acting and hosting career after winning MediaCorp’s Singapore Star Search and the Star Awards’ Best Newcomer in the same year. A significant part of his work includes lecturing at the Singapore Media Academy.

In 2011, Nick founded Tok Tok Chiang Wayang Pte. Ltd., aiming to rejuvenate Chinese opera. His company, along with its nonprofit wing, Tok Tok Chiang Opera, supports the historic 160-year-old street opera troupe, Lao Sai Tao Yuan, and organizes cultural events and workshops in collaboration with government bodies such as the Ministry of Education and the National Heritage Board.

Nick’s versatility in media and Chinese opera has garnered him numerous accolades. He was appointed as the Singapore Youth Ambassador by Minister Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan. In 2014, Nick received the Honouree Award for the JCI Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World Global Winner in the cultural achievement category.
